He called her Bambi Legs. Her long skinny legs were always clumsily running into anything that crossed their path and knocking everything over within a 5 ft radius. She would always laugh when her legs got in the way, stating that she’s “fucking bambi” with a somewhat disappointed look in her eyes, yet a twinkle of acceptance, because she was aware of herself and loved that he was too. He was more of a dog, with his carefree attitude, charm, and smile that could light up a room. Everyone loves a dog. She on the other hand was the deer in the relationship, frightened by what may come, cautious and wide eyed, clumsy yet graceful. Always running from her emotions only to find them spilling out from time to time. The deer and the dog. Such a strange mixture but so perfect on the surface. She was timid and lacked confidence but when in the presence of the dog she felt safe and beautiful. The only problem was that she wanted more and he just wanted to play, like all dogs. A dogs life is just far too carefree for a frightened deer who only wants to know she has someone who will be there for her, protecting her from the headlights of the oncoming cars.
